When a newborn gets blood taken out it hurts ? When my baby was only a day old a nurse came in and said since I got a fever during labor they had to take the baby to get her blood taken out to check if she was fine. When the nurse bought my baby back she was fast asleep, I asked if she cried she said "no" and left. I'm wondering if it really does hurt a baby or not ? They gave her a shot in front of me and she didn't cry, but they gave her sugar water and put a paci in her mouth before giving it to her the nurse told me that's what they give them so they won't cry
