How long did it take for you to get used to things being in your vag?

I want to be able to check my cervix. I've been doing it for 3 days so far. And I find myself nervous about sticking a finger in me everytime so basically everyday I feel a little less motivated to do it. It doesn't hurt but it is uncomfortable and makes me nervous. I worry about hurting myself. 
Advice? (Besides the advice of just don't do it because that's impractical. I'm doing this not only for my crevix but also to get used to it so tampons and sex and doc visits will be "easier") Tips? Nice words?

Hey, honey. I really don't mean this in an unkind way, but I'm sorry you feel so scared and ashamed of your body that this is a problem for you. Not to make a bigger issue out of this than it really is, but society puts such a negative stigma on our vaginas, it's just not fair. I'm truly sorry that you have been hurt by this even in just this small way.

Okay. So. My advice would be to find a time and place where you know you won't be disturbed and feel comfortable. Get a hand-held mirror. Go exploring. I'm serious. You look at your face every day in the mirror. You wash your body every morning or night. Why not know about what's between your legs, too?

I promise you won't hurt yourself. This doesn't have to be about masterbation (though that is another type of exploring that's important if you want to have a healthy, feel good sexual relationship in your future), but just testing yourself.

If your vagina can fit a baby through it, a tampon or finger or penis won't do anything 😉

Are you a still a Virgin? There's very little you can do to hurt yourself using your fingers alone (bar scratches sharp nails)  but I'd say don't worry to much about. I can't really reach my cervix unless I'm squatting and I try and do it in the shower.  Lube also helps. Masturbation and getting to know your own body also helps. Dr's visits are always and need but awkward and slightly uncomfortable but it's the Dr's or nurses job to help you through it.  Ask Lots of questions.  Whether it comes or sex or a Dr's exam - if you feel uncomfortable don't be afraid to ask them stop, no matter what!

Yeah I was afraid to use tampons or check anything when I was still a virgin.. After my husband and I (bf at the time) starting well fooling around then I felt comfortable using tampons and such. You kind of just have to get your self familiar with well down there lol try laying down relaxing and just kinda feel it out and get to know yourself. That might help you ease into using tampons and checking your cervix. It's highly unlikely that you'll hurt yourself while feeling around.
