Can you photocopy ultrasound pics?

I want to be able to give my parents and my in-laws copy's of the ultrasound pictures. Is photocopying safe? Or will it ruin the original pictures?

I just took photos on my phone of the ultrasound pictures and printed them out

I was told photocopying can turn the original ultrasound image dark. I think it was something to do with the lighting used in photocopying.

I wonder if you can just scan them onto your computer & print them out on luster/photo paper or whatever it's called?

I took a picture of the picture and then had them printed out.   Went old school!  Didn't want to ruin the original.
