Diabetic & pregnant?

Anyone diabetic before becoming pregnant? Ive have diabetes and am 6 weeks along.  My sugars are high and my pills How are you controlling your sugar? Any tips?

I have been a type 2 since 2006. I became pregnant this year A d my sugars were out of control before pregnancy. Now, I take my long acting shots in the morning and at night and I take a shot of short acting insulin with every meal. Just make sure to stay on top of your shots and test your sugar two hours after every meal, when you wake up, and before bed. Seeing high numbers after doing all of that makes you change the way you eat (you become more aware of what changes your numbers) and made me stop drinking pop. My a1c is still 6.9 but it used to be a lot higher... Baby boy had been weighing normal at the ultrasounds and he seems to be doing just what he should be. Good luck, girl...it's hard being a diabetic mommy.

I was pre diabetic before pregnancy. I was on Glucophage 1000mg, and I'm still on it. It is safe during pregnancy. So your dr will either give you stronger medication or you will go more regulary for the glucose tolerance test( had it done 2 times already). Just get to a dr before hand, as it might get worse of left to its own devices

You'll need to see a nutritionist so they can tell you how many carbs to stick to with each and every meal. They'll help you!!!

I was type two diabetic and when I was pregnant my blood sugar was high no matter what I ate ,I had to be pit on insulin 3 times a day to control it .my baby was very healthy. Call Your Doctor
