How soon in pregnancy is it safe to have sex? And are there any risks/ protection needed? I don't want to sound silly just want to protect pregnancy.

Honestly after losing two babies we abstained until after the first appointment at 8 weeks to see the heartbeat but it's fine to have sex whenever and as often as you like throughout pregnancy. I was just so paranoid lol. Almost 20w now so everything is going great.

Doctor said as long as you're not bleeding until your water breaks is completely safe.

If you haven't seen the doctor yet I would wait just to be safe.. I had a transvaginal ultrasound at 5 weeks for viability check & also found out my progesterone levels were low so doctor recommended no sex until next check (which is next week, yay!) so everyone is different. I have heard most people say they did but if you are a worrier like me, wait until you're checked out first! Good luck!
