Burning sensation

My period ended yesterday and my husband and I had sex tonight and as we were I started feeling a slight burning sensation but after we finished and I showered it became a little unbearable but is calming down now. Could this have anything to do with not having sex for a week during my period? I've had occasionally burning sometimes after sex. Please help I had a UTI about 3 weeks ago and I had meds on hand it cleared up what could it be ?
