I am going to lose my virginity soon to my bc of 2 years. I am going to get birth control this weekend just to be extra cautious. My mother doesn't know I am going to be sexually active, I just told her that I need birth control for my periods. When the lady asks me at the appointment if I am sexually active, I am going to tell her no. Is is possible that some birth controls only affect your period and cannot reduce the risk of pregnancy? Or no matter what type of birth control they put me on it will reduce the risk of pregnancy? Thanks for the help!
