I know someone who used it and their baby ended up pooping in the womb and ingested it and ended up dying from it. I would never risk it.

It will not work unless your baby is ready to come anyway. Otherwise you'll get the shits, start contractions that will eventually stop. If baby is ready those contractions could continue. It will also give you the mega shits. I'm having my third baby. Absolutely everyone will poop on the table during vaginally delivery, whether they know it or not. I do not understand for the life of me why you'd want diarrhea on the table during labor. Disgusting and awful. Labor is very difficult already without the added fun of shitting yourself. On top of that it can cause your child to poop in utero which can lead to major respiratory issues and even death. Have I given you enough reasons not to yet? Don't do it. Ever. Gross and dangerous.

I used it to start labor with my son. It worked however, I wouldn't suggest using it. It caused horrible diarrhea and cramping

Its works I took it with my youngest and it worked but here its not good to take now I did it almost 8 yrs. ago heard on the news that its does something to baby 👶 it didn't do anything to my son but like I said it was 8yrs ago took it around 10:30 at night 🌃 by 12:30a.m. I was omw to the hospital 🏥 but take at ur own rist if u like & gd luck.

My mom (a midwife) has had clients who chose to try it. They are usually Amish women. She said it does sometimes work for an overdue mom (definitely not a good idea for anyone before their due date) but she still doesn't encourage it because the effect is so unpleasant. The reason it works is that causes bowel contractions and diarrhea and that can stimulate uterine contractions. There are like hundreds of things I would try before I would resort to that, like lots of fresh fruit and fluids to encourage my body to clear itself. I do think constipation can hold up labor, so if you're overdue and constipated, I think focusing on safe food or drinks that will soften your stool is a good start. Coffee or tea with black strap molasses could help.
