Light spotting, ok to go to ER for ultrasound if OB says wait?

I haven't had an ultrasound yet so I'd like the reassuance. My OB says light spotting is normal and that I don't need to go in unless it gets heavy or painful. What have you ladies done?

I listened to my doctor. I've seen many women go to the ER and get very scared, being told they're miscarrying when they aren't, since the ER staff aren't really trained to understand early pregnancy. That was my reasoning.

I would wait. ERs are for emergencies and if you're not full on bleeding and not having pain, it's not an emergency.
