Tachycardia?

I have tachycardia and now it's getting horrible that I'm pregnant. I've heard beta blockers are okay during pregnancy? Let me know your experiences xoxo!! Calling the doc tomorrow to get an apt.

I have been taken off of my beta blockers with each pregnancy. This pregnancy, at 15 weeks, I am back on them. My heart cannot handle being off of them at this point. We will be followed closely by maternal fetal medicine.. The risk after 1st trimester is intrauterine growth restriction :( im so disappointed to need to be back on them but momma has to be healthy to keep baby healthy.

I have it too and my OBGYN said it could get better or worse. When I was exercising pretty regularly it was better but now it keeps me up at night. Sometimes it is so heavy I can't tell if it's my heart or my baby moving:(

I've been having this problem too! I'm calling my cardiologist tomorrow in fact. I didn't have any trouble with my first. 😞

My cardiologist is not a fan of beta blockers during pregnancy. She did say that there are ones that are "relatively" safe, but I chose to wait until it's absolutely necessary to take meds. Definitely check with your cardiologist!

I have hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and was on atenolol for 12 years.  They took me off in the beginning but the Maternal fetal specialist wanted to switch me to metoprolol.  Which is what I am now on.  The problem is there is not a whole lot of medical research to back up any "findings"...therefore you have to go with what your doctors think is best for YOU & baby. Atenolol is a category c drug and metoprolol is a category d drug.  D has "less risk," but still can't be ruled out.  My doc said I'd rather see you have a smaller baby and for you to be ok, then for something to happen that we could have prevented with medication.
