Is it necessary to have a breast pump if i stay home full time?

Has anyone tried this philips avent single electric pump? I read a lot of good reviews on it and compared to the medela some said the philips is a little easier to pack away and two of my friends had some issues with the medela where the milk sometimes "back flow" in to the tube? They're not sure how that happened.. I dont work so i dont have any issues with a pump that's a bit loud.
