Long period

Okay so, I started my period last Tuesday. Today is my 8th day..I usually have my period for only 4 days and it's usually very light. I have been going through so many tampons and bleeding through my pants to where I had to clean the couch several times cause I didn't realize till after. Anyone know why I am bleeding so much and especially on the 8th day? I should be done by now!!
