Are you petrified of giving birth?

I have an incredibly low pain threshold and know for a fact that I cannot handle the pain of birth.

I'm planning on having a water birth, squatting with an epidural.

What's your birthing plan and what do you think of mine?

Just a question... How do you plan on squatting with an epideral? Epiderals make your legs numb, therefore, you cannot put any weight on them ;) Also, birth is such a small portion of pregnancy and motherhood. It will be over before you know it and you will have your baby in your arms. Don't be scared, you will do just fine!

YES always has been on of my biggest fears in life!! And I get to conquer it!!!! I plan on just going to the hospital. Epidural and verbally (and some physically) abusing the SHIT out of my husband.

Check out hypnobirthing classes...some will Skype if unavailable in your area.  They have a huge success rate in uber relaxed, no meds deliveries.  Basically, you & partner learn intense meditation-like techniques that put you in a really relaxed state so your mind/body doesn't go to the "fight or flight" stage.  The water birth will for sure keep you relaxed too. Don't worry, our bodies were made for this adventure, you'll rock it!!! ❤️❤️❤️

You can't have a water birth with any pain relief other than gas and air. I recommend trying hypnobirthing, i had a 3 day labour with no pain relief due to hypnobirthing! You'll be fine our bodies are amazing

I didn't think about that. It's something I will definitely research and speak to my doula and OBgyn with. But that's such a good point. I honestly would love to do it completely on my own but I know myself and I don't think I can make it...maybe I am wrong and stronger than I think. I guess the thought of giving birth always petrified me.

No water birth with an epidural. But you may find that you don't need an epidural once you get in the water. The pain goes away. It's different than breaking your leg. It's good pain, pain with a purpose.

Your body is made to handle the pain. However, there are drugs so you don't have to. Fear intensifies pain.

Once you get an epidural there is no getting out of bed. Sorry. Haha. I had epidurals with all 3 of mine with very minimal pain so that might be your best bet.

Yours sounds well thought out if that's what you want. I on the other hand plan to do a completely natural birth with no pain meds every one is different!

I had an emergency c-section with my first and plan on getting a scheduled c-section this time around. Which will be nice for me because in my opinion while I was sore, I think the recovery from my surgery was less painful than my contractions were.
