Sciatic pain?

Is anyone else having severe sciatic nerve pain?  I'm 15w today with my first, and never in my life have felt this.  It started about three days ago and I can't even put weight on my left foot sometimes because the pain is so sharp and severe. I've tried heat, ice, yoga, stretching...any tips?

Try lying on your back-performing isometrics of your hip muscles by doing a couple things..

1. Put a pillow or small ball between your knees.. Squeeze the ball/pillow as hard as you can for 3-5 seconds and then relax slowly .. This helps to activate hip musculature in and around the pelvis.. Try 10-15 repetitions

2. Lying on your back with your knees bent up and feet flat, lift your bottom
Off the floor squeezing your buttocks.. Hold briefly 3-5 seconds and return to the floor.  Perform 10-14 repetitions..

3. Lying on your back with your knees bent up and feet flat, take your leg and place the outside of your ankle on your opposite knee, creating what I call at " figure 4 stretch" position.. Hold 30 seconds to 1 minute and perform
2-3 repetitions each leg.

"Sciatic pain" usually comes from ligamentous laxity .. Allowing joints to shift and muscles to put pressure on nerves in the lumbar region (low back) or buttocks/pelvis region.

I went to the chiropractor and it turns out it is muscular, piriformis syndrome.  Ice, heat, massage, stretching, and lots of pain.  Getting a prenatal massage at 5 today, praying that it gives me some relief!

Yep! I have it constantly! Usually for me, it happens when I'm pushing myself too hard. I don't like to take pain relievers unless I absolutely have to, so usually it's time to prop your feet up and drink some water. Slow down! :P

I have it but I have a sciatic injury from years ago so it doesn't surprise me. Another thing you can do is sit on a tennis ball... Yes, sit on a tennis ball. LOL! Put the tennis ball wherever the pain is, sit on it (or put the ball between you and the wall), roll it back and forth under you. That may help give relief.
