Reasons for C-Section?

Hi everyone, I hope your pregnancies are going well!

I am an FTM and I am petrified of having a c-section. I have been seeing so many people on here posting that they are having emergency c-sections and I'm wondering why? What are the main reasons for having a c-section?

I hope you guys don't mind sharing!

My first was a week over due and very content. Even after being induced she didn't want to come. Her heart rate started to drop and we did a semi emergency c section. My second was a planned c section (and was awesome- I felt like I was checking into a hotel. Make up and hair done met everyone before hand-super chill!) as well as this one will be. They seem really scary but I promise if it comes to it you just have to trust that it is the safest thing for your baby. A little extra recovery time and a tiny scar that all but disappears over time. :)

because the baby heart is goin low , or baby is not goin down because you are too small , because you get bad in the labor , or you have placenta lower , or you have preclancia ,or baby is geting to much time more than 40 weeks

I had an emergency c section due to a full placental abruption with massive internal bleeding at 30w2d with my twins. I had no cervical dilation but major left sided abdominal pain and anxiety.

With my first I had a severe fourth degree tear that lead to permanent damage so for my fourth I will be having a second and final csection 3/21/16!

I have had one semi-emergency and one repeat. Will be having my third on February 22nd. My first, I was in induced labor for 18 hours and I had to get my cervix manually stretched and was stuck at 6cm for 10 of those hours. My daughters heartbeat kept getting low so they did a csection. We chose to have a repeat with my second because my husbands work took him far away from home and wanted him there for the birth. My third baby was going to be a VBA2C but he ended up with a severe heart defect. We will be traveling 8 hrs from home to Denver children's hospital to have our third csection which is mainly because the surgery team for our son will be available all at once when he is born. He will have three open heart surgeries before age 2 if all goes well of course

I had an emergency cesarean last June. My body didn't react well to the pitocin and so I wasn't contracting the way I should have been thus making my uterus tired and only made me dilate 2 cms in 10 hours. My baby was also in the wrong position. He was all on the right side. Even though things weren't going well he was still trying to come down and his heart rate was dropping significantly with every contraction so it was much safer for baby and myself to have a c-section.

I had little progress after several hours of pushing. Doctor decided baby was too big for my pelvis. I also had terrible hip pain where I previously broke my left hip and was having trouble focusing on pushing.

My son ended in a csection because he was overdue (2 weeks), he was estimated to be a large baby, I had almost no fluid at all (body had started to absorb it or something), because of not having enough fluid my contractions were only on one side of my stomach and not the other (so they said no way would I be able to deliver vaginally) and after 6 hours on the pitocin, I was having fairly strong contractions on that one side that I couldn't feel and they were causing my sons heart rate to drop during. I also was not dilated or effaced whatsoever. So they unhooked me from everything and a few hours later I had my c section.

If they're concerned for the baby due to a drop in heart rate. My mom had one because my brother was 11 pounds and he wouldn't fit through her pelvis. If your blood pressure goes up too much, and sometimes if you're not progressing and pictocin isn't helping. They'll also do one if you're really preterm and they're concerned about the baby's health. If you have an untreated STI, cervical warts, or an active round of herpes they might do it to avoid transmitting it to the baby. I think that HIV/AIDS might be a reason as well, but don't hold me to that. Also, they'll do it if baby is breached.

Baby broke my water at 37 weeks and I didn't have enough water to sustain the pregnancy. However my baby was breeched and wasn't progressing in labor after 24 hours...
