I wax the bikini line area and shave the rest to prevent ingrown hairs and razor burn. it works best for me

Personal choice, and it'll vary on your pain tolerance and how your hair grows back!
I've always been keen on waxing as the hair does grow back thicker (just as a comparison between areas I've shaved/waxed)
I first shaved then got the guts to get it waxed professionally and the results feel amazing for me - no stubble, it lasts for AGES (so much longer than shaving) and the whole process is actually fairly quick   Since getting downstairs waxed I've also felt more confident and happier to wear short skirts and things :P. I hate the stubble that grows after shaving and waxing is like an investment for me as I no longer wonder like "oh should I shave or leave it today".
It's a little pricey but I find the hair issue makes me less confident in bed (I don't like having hair then and I can enjoy it more) also waxing means you are completely smooth down there for like a week to two weeks before it even starts to grow back 😄
But it is your choice! I've not really found it awkward as it's something the beautification does regularly. I recently had a really good chat in my last appointment and I was discussing some do the stuff we had with my male friend and I suddenly remembered to be vague about this "friend" instead of being like "the lady who removes my hair downstairs" :P

Shaving with conditioner or coconut oil can prevent razor rashes and make skin super soft! Also applying (non scented, natural preferably) deodorant to shaved area after shaving can prevent as well!

I get awful red, itchy bumps after I shave no matter what I use to moisturize afterwards. I've been going to the same lady for waxing for years and yes, it's a little painful, but it's so much smoother and lasts a lot longer!

I didn't mind waxing, I mean it was painful af but it worked. But after I started having sex, I needed to start shaving because i hate hair down there and couldn't stand the odd hairs growing back so I shave now. And it's not painful so that's a bonus

I just can't relax when waxing I've tried doing it myself and never get the courage to pull it off myself and I've tried having it done by someone and honestly just feel a bit awkward so I find shaving better

Shaving less painful and honestly your hair grows back the same time either way.. But it's just smoother with waxing
