Vaginal or C-section?

Question

Two vaginal births last one was very scary as she was stuck . Shoulder dystocia she wasn't breathing for 3 minutes . I have the option to have a C-section  this time around but it scares the crap out of me.  Is the healing process really worse than a vaginal birth?

I have only had a c section. but in comparison to others with vaginal deliveries yes...recovery is much longer. And you can't drive for 4-6+ weeks.

My csection was fine. I healed quickly and didn't have any problems. I used a belly bandit band for after, it puts slight pressure on the incision and makes it easier to get up and down. I only used maybe half of the pain killers I was prescribed before all I needed was Tylenol.

My c section recovery wasn't much worse than the vaginal one. If I gave to have another section that will be ok with me. Good luck!

Luckily my doctor supports what desicion I make (So far at least) ultrasounds in third trimester will help when I know how big the baby is.

Recovery is 50% mental. Having said that: with a cesarean, your stomach is cut, your intestines are rearranged, and then your uterus is cut. For me, I hurt worse when I cut my fingernail too short than I did with the first three cesareans. (4th will be in July.) However, my friend couldn't even walk for nearly 2 weeks after hers. Everyone heals differently. I go in with a mindset of "this is going to be a breeze" and it is. For me. It also depends on how well your body heals and how well your doctor does the cesarean.

This will be my third c section. I agree with the previous comment. As long as you have good doctors and a good mindset you should be fine. It takes a little longer. And siting up and laughing hurt a bit but not for too long. I didn't fill my pain med script either. Just I b profen.
