What do you think?
A couple of weeks ago there was a photo going around of a mother who had her son take her on a "date". During this date, the son would use his allowance to pay for his and his mom's dinner and tip the waitress. The mom said she was doing this to teach her son how to treat a lady. The mom received a lot of mixed reviews, but had gotten her fair share of negative comments. This morning I was on Facebook and saw a picture of a dad taking his daughter out on a date and the dad paid for everything and said he wanted to show his daughter how a man should treat her, and he was mostly celebrated. One user referred to the story of the mom and son, and while people agreed with the commenter that there is a double standard, someone accused the commenter of being negative for pointing out the double standard. So I was wondering, do you think there was a double standard? Do you think both parents are teaching their children right? Let's discuss!
