Maternity tops - tight or mumu-esque
So I'm at that awkward stage where people at work are asking the people I work closely with if I'm pregnant or if I'm overdoing it with the vending machine. I'm almost 13 weeks and about to announce at work (told my boss and my dept awhile ago, but no one else). My issue is my tops are getting tight and it just looks like I'm chunky. I've been wearing maternity pants for awhile because of the bloat and of course no one notices that. I went shopping and I have to say maternity tops scare me. They're either extremely tight or look like a mumu. The sweaters (I am always cold at work) look especially form fitting. I don't think I'll mind it later when I have a larger bump, but this just seems like a bloat bump mostly and I feel weird showing off this tiny bump so prominently. I also don't want to wear a mumu. I've also considered just buying larger sizes of normal clothes, but they tend to not fit right around my shoulders/armpits and that also doesn't look right. At what point did you all start with maternity tops and what did you do for that awkward stage?
