No heartbeat? :(

Question

Went in for my first ultra sound today thinking I was 7 weeks 3 days and measured at 6 weeks 4 days and they couldn't see a heartbeat. My doctor didn't seem too concerned but I'm freaking out! Based on how far long I measure that means I conceived only 4 days before I had my positive pregnancy test. Is that possible?

I've heard of several women who don't see/hear the heartbeat until closer to 8 weeks. Try not to assume anything until your next appt. You should know more by then :) it's still early!

I just had my fourth ultrasound yesterday. By my lmp I should be 8 weeks. By my ultrasound I'm just 6 weeks. Meaning it was only a week pregnant when my test was positive.

no worries, im exactly in the same boat..ill have my next appointment on Tuesday  at 7 weeks when i supposed to be 9 weeks to confirm baby's heart beat,maybe your ovulation was late and my doctor said that pregnancy test can be positve after 8 Dpo :)

Hum I don't think so because it still takes about a week for the fertilized egg to implant and you can't get a positive before. Did he give you another appointment? Suppose to be able to see a heartbeat at 6 weeks. It sounds like maybe a week or so it stopped growing and there for there's no more heartbeat
