Scared Poo-less

I'm 22 weeks pregnant. So this am, I woke up at 6 to get ready for work. Imagine my surprise (and fear) when I saw that I was bleeding. It wasn't bright red, more pink, but there was definitely blood and I could smell fresh blood. So I call the doc on call and she tells me to get in right away when the office opens. I had a miscarriage a couple of months before this pregnancy, so I was freaking out, but trying my best not to freak out. ...it was a lost cause. I was a mess.
My husband is currently away on business, so as I'm calling him to explain what's going on, I start to get lower back pain and uncomfortable waves of cramps ever 10 minutes like clockwork. At this point, I'm thinking I could be going into early labor, but I did as the doc suggested and waited until the office opened.
Hearing the heartbeat was the best feeling. Knowing she was okay was all I wanted. Turns out I had Braxton Hicks contractions a little earlier than anticipated, and a bacterial infection that caused the bleeding. They just so happened to occur at the same time. Since this is my first child and I've never had so much as a yeast infection, I had no idea what was going on. The doc told me that I did everything exactly as I should have and he was happy that I was listening to my body.
Moral of the story, ladies: if something is off- don't panic, but make sure you see your doc ASAP. Also, Braxton Hicks contractions are no bueno. Wishing all the mommas safe pregnancies!
