Who should be #1 in your partners life, you or their mother? ( besides children ) please comment who and why or why not.

When you get married your allegiance is to your spouse first. All other family including mothers become extended family. That doesn't mean that the mother is unimportant, it just means that your wife comes first.

That depends. Once you're married, it's your wife. But if you're gonna be life long boyfriend/girlfriend... Mama always comes first.

I think there are probably times when it's both. Like if your mother is ill that might take priority over other commitments for a while.

But as a rule, if you make a new partnership with a spouse or significant other, then that should be your primary tie. It's not healthy for adults to spend their lives focused on their parents.

If your relationship is not marriage-like then obviously this does not necessarily apply, but I still think adults should have a level of separation from their parents, no matter what their relationship status.

You live with your SO. Usually you move away from home. Your SO is the family you get to choose. You better love them and trust them tons!
