What do Braxton Hicks contractions feel like?

FTM so I have no reference point but can someone please describe what they feel like? What weeks do they start ? Is it painful?

They can start anytime actually is what i was told. Basically if you feel like you are having one, you can fell your stomach and if it feels very tight, tighter than normal, it could be. It can be painful and you can also not notice them at all. If it is too painful just change your activity and drink water. Braxton hicks can be caused by dehydration so they say to drink water and if it still happens after drinking 5 cups and relaxing, call the dr.

I first felt mine at like 18 weeks maybe !  With my first child I never had them never even knew what they were this baby iv had them few times.. Dr told me they can be supper uncomfortable and even hurt?.. But it's like your stomach gets hard and tight? I googled it and that's how I knew what Braxton hicks was and that I was having them.
