Fioricet, anyone?

Question

So, I had a doc appt and the hubby mentioned my headaches to my doctor and he gave me fioricet, no codiene. Just wondering if anyone else had taken it while pregnant... I'm 18 weeks Sunday.
Please only comment if you've taken it or know someone CLOSELY that has. 
Tylenol doesn't work and Excedrin makes me sick.

I was given fiorcet by an on call ob two weeks ago, and it contains a barbituate (butalbital). I was nursing a bad migrane so I took it for a few days. Went to my neurologist yesterday actually and she strongly advised me against continuing use Fiorcet because of the barbituate and studies showing higher risk of defects and the potential side effects on baby. She advised me to start Magnesium supplements and Omega 3s daily, and Tylenol. Headaches suck! Feel better.

My doctor just prescribed this yesterday. I am 14 weeks today (and worry about absolutely everything). He told me it is supposed to be safe during pregnancy. Tylenol wasn't helping me at all! I only had to take it once and it got rid of my 3 day long migraine. Good luck!

Awe I'm sorry hun:( I know exactly how you feel. I usually take excedrin migraine as it works wonders, but I cant since I'm pregnant. I just try home remedies like drinking a hundred percent grape juice as it has an antioxidant in it that helps headaches and migraines and lots of water and trying to get six meals in a day along with a cold wash cloth on my head. Hope you feel better hun! Hang in there!

I am taking it now as I was literally having a headache every single day throughout the beginning of my pregnancy. It works wonders and is not harmful to the baby.

I'm pregnant with my 9th baby and have gotten migraines for years! I have taken fioricet with every pregnancy and all my babies are fine. My doc says its totally safe. I am 16wks+4 days today and I have been taking them through my whole pregnancy with this one as well. I hope you feel better! I can't wait to get off work and go home ad take some, I had a horrible migraine all day.

You're welcome hun:) I rather have a headache for a day rather than it be every single day. Im in my second trimester and am still getting them:( I've been up all morning and night with my head in the toilet. :/
