Has the television become out-dated?

Not yet, but I think it's on it's way to becoming outdated. I didn't own a television for years, but I'll admit I like having one. Until they solve the problem of multiple people being able to watch the same show on a device with out it being awkward I'll keep mine.

Yes and no. I have a tv in my house, but no local stations come in and we don't pay for cable/satellite. We just use Netflix, hulu and DVDs!

Tv no, having cable/satellite  yes. I don't have satellite or cable, I use netflix hulu etc. I have local stations but don't watch them

Yes. I have a big tv to hook up to my laptop for watching with other people but I don't have cable. I think soon sports and awards shows etc will be available online (maybe not for free) and cable will only be used by older generations.

Not yet! Not until they can get sports/events on the Internet. Like Hulu or something. 
It's also nice watching a movie on a screen larger than your laptop.
