Yeast infection before period

About a year ago, I switched from a low-dose birth control to a regular one. Never had issues on the low dose, but wanted to see if a change would help my sometimes low sex drive and improve my "wetness" during sex. The first regular dose pill I tried, trinessa, seemed to cause yeast infections right before my period. So I switched to necon, but I would get bad hormonal acne while on that one. My boyfriend moved cross country at the end of August, so I stopped the pill all together to get my body off the hormones (I had been on the pill pretty regularly for 8-9 years). I've been off the pill since September. My skin has been HORRIBLE, but is starting to clear up finally. The biggest issue, though, is that I'm still getting yeast infections right around a week before my period starts. OTC ovule kits knock it out, but those are expensive and messy and uncomfortable. Does anyone else experience problems with yeast infections that correlate to their cycle? Any suggestions to help keep my lady parts more balanced?
