Castor Oil anyone??

Question

Has anyone tried taking Castor Oil to naturally induce labor?? I am 39 Weeks 2 days today, I took it this morning for the first time, I mixed 2 Tablespoons of it with Orange Juice. A lot of the recipes I had seen said to use 4 Tablespoons, but I decided to start off with less so I didn't give myself crazy Diarrehea. Anyways, it has been 4 hours and I haven't felt any different, I haven't needed to poop at all. So I'm going to be taking a second dose now, and hoping something will happen. Will update soon :)

UPDATE: After taking 2 doses of Castor oil and having to use the restroom about 6 times total in a 13 hour period, I went into labor and had my baby boy Owen at 39 weeks 3 days 12:27am February 1st! 6lbs 14oz 19 and 3/4inches!! He is absolute perfection💙💙💙 
So I will undoubtedly say that the Castor Oil worked for me!

It can be really dangerous for the baby.  I wouldn't recommend taking anymore

Thank you for your comment! I took two 2 tbsp doses of it over the course of 4 hours it has now been 6-7 hours. It hasn't made me have horrible Diarrehea or any discomfort. I have been drinking tons of water plus some Gatorade for electrolytes and I feel great, I did start to have some contractions that were about 5 minutes apart, then 4 minutes, then 2-3 minutes. But they just stopped like they have been for the past 4-5 weeks.. So we will see if they pick up again, but so far, seems like baby isn't ready.

I took castor oil with my last pregnancy but I had to take 2oz at a time to see results personally I won't be doing it again because while it made me go into labor It was so disgusting that I just don't want to. But I had a successful and healthy baby and castor oil induced labor.

The risk is dehydration and being exhausted. My doc said he doesn't recommend it because it can cause really strong contractions. It die at cause the baby to poop. The reason people think that is because over due babies tend to have meconium staining and women are more likely to take castor oil when they are over due. Do what's best for you, but be careful. It didn't work for me at all either. I took 2 oz and had nooooo reaction at all.
