Will my baby be ok if she's born at 34 week gestation?

Please don't judge me :(

So I'm technically supposed to be on bedrest but doctor said if she comes she comes and we won't stop labor anymore. Well I woke up in a nesting mood and my house was so dirty. I mean like it should've been on a TLC tv show it was so gross. So I cleaned the entire kitchen, I swept and moped the entire downstairs, I did the laundry, I picked up all the trash, shredded the mail, put clothes away. Their is still a lot of work to be done but it's fine to me now. Like if I had the baby I would be ok with people coming over. Well now I'm having contractions :( I feel so freaking bad! I pushed myself too hard and instead of helping me my husband just bitched at me "stop cleaning!" Well no one else would do it :( I don't want rats and roaches!!! (We can't afford to hire a cleaner right now) I am 34 weeks and 2 days pregnant. I have had two doses, so 4 shots, of steroids for lung development. She is estimated to be about 5lbs, I am negative for the Strep B infection. If I go into labor this week do you think she'll be ok??? I see my OB tomorrow....

From all I've read 34 weeks is pretty solid for lung development. She might need a little NICU time, but odds are, she will be just fine. Also, it is possible you are feeling false labor from the exertion and it will subside. No sense beating yourself up over past actions, but put your feet up and rest. No more cleaning.

Hopefully your having Braxton hicks contractions from exerting yourself. I used to get them all the time after exertion and then they would ease up. Your baby will be fine even if she does decide to make her appearance now. Good luck! :)

It is normal to have that burst of energy and want to clean everything near the end of pregnancy - so don't berate yourself too much :) just lie down, stay hydrated and see if te contractions calm down. Baby should be fine though.

My doctor said it will be ok! I'm in the same boat and 35 weeks. It's not ideal but the baby will be ok!

Technically you're still early and I think before 36 is considered premature. But your baby should be fine. If the doc said he will let labor progress then I don't think you should worry. I would however get right back to bed and try to relax. Maybe your labor won't progress right now.

Obviously you want baby to stay in as long as possible but chances are good that if she came early she would be okay. My step daughter was born at 34 weeks and weighed 5 lbs 12 oz and was breathing and eating on her own. If it wasn't for a completely unrelated birth defect she wouldn't have spent any time in the nicu.

I had my son at 34weeks 3 days. I went in to labor and they couldn't stop it I had placenta pervia so I had to have a c section. He was 5lbs 14oz he only stayed in the Nicu for 1w days and that was only because when they pulled him out he swallowed a lot of fluid but other then that he was health and I didn't have any steroid injections or anything. It's scary but your baby will do great and you guys will be fine.

My third baby was born at 34 weeks 4lbs. 11 oz.  and spent 10 days in the NICU only because he needed to learn to suck breathe and swallow. He had no breathing problems. It was my 4th who had a lung collapse born at 32 weeks 4 lbs. 1oz. And in NICU 6 weeks and 5th baby born at 31 weeks 4lbs. 1 oz. and in NICU  6 weeks as well. Your baby should be fine but, might need to be in NICU to learn the suck breathe and swallow and be able to stay awake long enough to get full feeding. Prayers your lil one stays put for two more weeks. Try drinking a lot of water and resting to stop contractions. 💗🙏
