Should we wait?

Husband and I have decided to start TTC baby #2 but here is the problem. I don't qualify for maternity leave until I have been at my job for 1 year which won't be until November 30th. If I were to get pregnant on the first try (this cycle) which I know is unlikely I'd be due in early November. I'm afraid my job would be in jeopardy. I don't want to wait until next month to start trying but I feel I have no choice because I am so worried about my job. Opinions?

If you need your job, I would definitely wait. You are right that there is a chance you might not concieve this first cycle, but there is definitely a chance that you will, and if you do, will you be able to afford another child without your job?

You usually don't get pregnant your first cycle that you're trying. Others may advise against it, but I'd say you're fine to go ahead and start trying.
