Hello glow! My name is Meghan, I am 36 weeks pregnant with my first child and I have five toy poodles! Yes I have five dogs who I love dearly. They are apart of my family and I wouldn't have it any other way. I get asked quite a bit "So what are you going to do with your dogs once you have the baby?" Or "what if they are mean to the baby?" Umm, first off I'm not getting rid of my dogs because that's silly. If they are mean to the baby, which is ridiculous they are sweet angels and very social to other kids and babies, I would make sure they knew it wasn't acceptable and discipline them. I just want people to know I love my dogs. They are my first babies and they will only be with us a little while but to them it's a lifetime.

Same way. My dog is like my first child. He sits in the biggy at Walmart, ride in a booster seat up front with me, has his own co sleeper next to me, and of course I dress him up occasionally. Our love for our dogs is indescribable. People always say, "your not going to have any time for that dog once that baby gets here" and what if he gets jealous and hurts the baby" just like any other mom with two kids, I WILL make time. Goodness gracious.  Don't let his snaggle tooth fool you, he's super sweet, he just has an unfortunate underbite lol. #ProudDogMom❤️

We have one dog... For now. She's a 6 yr old Pitt bull and is the sweetest thing with kids and baby's as well! We've had family ask if we are going to give her up cause we are about to have a baby. We say no way. We just adopted her 2 months ago for our daughter who has social emotional issues and has been the best thing to happen to her. She's family and we don't give family up for anything!

Yea, I hate when people comment on my fur babies! My husband has even made the comments of "it's going to be too much" but I tell him to shut it!!! I see them as my babies and never understood how people can just get rid of pets! My husband now knows better then to comment.  I think he just some times gets worried with the cats. (We have two cats and two dogs) one cat is not the friendliest but that is because she is scared of people (we think she was abused before we rescued her). He is just being protective but like I said, these are my babies and I would never give them up!!!  We are moving to another country soon and just praying for smooth travels!

My dogs have been our babies for 5 years. I do have some anxiety about how they will act around a baby but I know it is a big change for them too! We will introduce them slowly and I know they will love her even if it takes a bit. It took 3 months before they liked each other and now they're best friends😋

I've got one dog who is remarkable with my 2 year old. I'm not worried about it.

I think the older generations have different thoughts about pets in general. When I had my first baby my mother asked what I was going to do with my 2 cats. I was like...what? She said "pets are dirty and babies need a clean sterile environment". I just laughed. Babies do NOT need a STERILE environment, lol! And I do own a vacuum cleaner! Needless to say my daughter was miraculously fine 😜😜😜😜

I am worried about my 2 small dogs. They are 4 and 8 and I've had each of them since they were puppies. The 8 year old I had before me and my husband started dating. Around the time I got her, my cousin had a baby and I tried to expose her but he ended up being an undisciplined turd and would constantly antagonize my dog and since his mom just let him do it, I always had to put my dog away when there were little boys around. (She has always been fine with girls though) And it has rubbed off on the younger one too. Now that we are having a boy, we are definitely a little nervous about how it is going to go but I think as long as we are really careful about supervising and disciplining, they will get used to it. If we feel like the baby is in danger, my mom did agree to take the dogs but I'm hoping it won't come to that because they are the sweetest dogs once you get to know them.

Pups can get territorial after baby is born. Just work with them if they do! My dog already is getting jealous with changes in house and he can tell something is going on with me. He won't leave my side!

I'm not getting rid of my dogs but they're most definitely not gonna be inside my house with a new born baby. Even tho they're well trained, That's just too close for comfort for me. Until my baby is at least 6/7 months they will be in the garage nice and cozy with everything I've set up for them. Still plenty of room to run around and be free, and will still be taken out regularly.

I have two chihuahuas of 10 and 8 years old, they've been my babies for so long! Unfortunately they're not very friendly! So We've been keeping them outside for the last 3 years! They are allowed in the house but not the bedrooms... We are expecting our first baby so I hope they behave! But by no means I would get rid of them.

I LOVE THIS POST! we have 3 dogs and everyone always asks the same questions. We got our dogs because we wanted to save them and they needed us. They are definitely my fur children, even if they drive me crazy I wouldn't trade them for anything.
