I'm late but negative test

Soo my period was due Sunday and it still isn't here. I ovulated on the 19th day 16 of my cycle and had spotting from the 28th-30th mostly just there when I wipe. Tested today and got negative test. Am I testing too early? My cycle is usually 27 days long.
