Anyone else have low platelet count?

I'm told my platelets are low (125) which is positively scary. Anyone else get this result or have any insight?

I've always had a low platelet count (88) as well as a low Von willebrand factor (the protein that makes the platelets 'stick'). I know a bunch of people who have had this and had perfectly healthy easy pregnancies! They're sending me to the high risk hemotologist as a precaution incase I need steroids before birth but otherwise it's business as usual. No need to stress 🙂

Its not extremely low, depending on the lab around 140 is usually normal, to where you should worry yourself over.  If you are taking blood thinners then I would talk to your doctor about that.  If you notice any signs of bleeding also inform your doctor. Just have them recheck it.

I have low platelet count with every pregnancy (this is my third) it basically means they will monitor you more closely after birth for heavy bleeding and depending on the count during time of labor no epidural. If the cont falls (under 100 I believe) they have medicine they will give you.

I've always had low platelet count, unfortunately it's not just a pregnancy thing. My normal range is 60-70 thousand. I've only been over 100k when I was 7 and on steroids. I can't get an epidural unless they're over 100k and they'll have to monitor me and baby after she is born.

Anyone else have low platelet count?
