Short luteal phase - reason for infertility?

For the last three cycles I have had a short luteal phase about 7 days and then 5 days of brown spotting and then only period. My FS said that might be the reason we haven't conceived in 17 months. Does anyone else also have this? Treatment plans?

Vitex!! It's an herb and you can find it on amazon.  There are hundreds of reviews about how it helped women get pregnant by lengthening thier luteal phase. I just started this month so I can't tell you how it has worked for me just yet. But good luck!

Yea that's a problem. I would see a dr for progesterone suppositories. If you don't want to go the medical route, acupuncture can help and TCM has herbs for it. Also Young Living has a EO for progesterone. Never tried it though.

I haven't had it confirmed but think I have this, I usually start spotting around 8dpo. I'm trying Vit B50 complex and preseed this cycle. I'm CD3 today. Good luck x

Yep its called leutal phase defect i think any thing less than 12 days is short with most womens leutal phasr being a 14 mine is anywhere between 6-10 days but i extend it with rx'd progesterone vaginal inserts.

I had that- it can indicate progesterone insufficiency. I had my levels tested and have been taking progesterone for the second half of my cycle and doing fertility acupuncture. It's definitely working. If you don't already, I encourage you to start tracking your BBT temperature in the morning. It can tell you a lot about your cycle.
