What do you think about Monkey moms?

Watching a documentary about people who adopt monkeys and since its widly known of in America and i know there are a lot of Americans on here i wanted to ask Would you adopt a monkey? Or do you thinks its cruel? Personally i would love to do it but i never would as i think its cruel, they are wild animals bu5 thats my oppinion, whats yours and why?

I work at a zoo and can honestly say, I hate primates. They are very dirty, smelly and aggressive. Even if they are hand raised, they can still tear your face off if you get them angry enough. I don't understand the obsession with monkeys. And I've never heard of "monkey moms." It's not a common thing. I've seen too many animals rescued from private owners and don't think people should have exotics as "pets."

My grandad had one when he was really young. It just to fight with their cat, it would sit on their window sill and people would bring it fruit so it would fill it's cheeks all the way up and then run off. Once it started to get ill, and for some inexplicable reason, they thought the solution was to put it in the oven, they went out and when they came back it was swinging from the clothes hangar on the ceiling and never got ill again. When ever he tells that story I tell him I'm not suprised it never got ill again, scared of getting stuck in the oven.

My husband wants to after our kids are gone, but he said he only will if he can afford to give them the habitat and life they deserve. He wants them to have their own treedome and make sure they're protected properly. It's just a dream of his lol

Why must people continually think they are a HIGHER POWER and RULE the world? This unethical behavior baffles me!
I'm teaching my one year old the rule of bath time "what's in the tub, stays in the tub" (toys).
When he's older I will also teach him "what's in the wild, stays in the wild". (All animals and mammals).
We do not OWN the world and EVERYTHING in it....we are just vacationing here for 80 or so years, it's not ours for the taking. Greedy human beings.

I saw that and it was so sad, they took the baby monkey away from the mom so soon, she looked so distressed😪 poor mom monkey,  and if course the lady who sells the baby made like 6000$ very sad

If they are abandoned and likely to die then it's okay, but if it's for the sake of having a pet I think its cruel. I would be wary of any wild animal in my home because they could always turn. There was a story of a lady from the US I think, that had her face torn off by a chimp she had in her care in her apartment. That wouldn't happen all the time but it's still a worry. I have a pet pig and 2 dogs and I'm well aware of their risk factor, so our daughter who loves animals is kept from them unless we can fully supervise.

It depends on where the monkey came from and the life I could provide it. It's not legal where I am from. It I would definitely consider it depending on the circumstances? Was it ripped from its mother in the wild to be sold as a pet? No that IS cruel no matter what anyone says. Is it a rescue from a neglectful owner and was born/spent too much in captivity to be released back into the wild, and could I provide a large, safe space for it? Sure I'd consider it. Unless I could find a sanctuary to take it,
