Gaining weight after miscarriage?

Hello,
I had a missed miscarriage Jan 4. Had a d&c on Jan 8th. I hadn't gained any weight during my pregnancy...but during this month after my miscarriage, I gained 5 lbs!!!!!!! Is this normal?? Has anyone experienced this?? Why would I gain so much!? I admit, I was feeling down and eating whatever I wanted but I don't think my eating habits have changed that much to gain 5 lbs in one month... Is this hormones???

Ugh yes. Half of my pants no longer fit. I'm feeling very insecure and angry about it. It feels like I gained all this weight and have nothing to show for it.

Im also frustrated. However I was ravenously hungry during the pregnancy (went for a d&c 1 day shy of 11 weeks, there was a placenta and everything), and gained 8 pounds during those months. Now, since my d&c ten days ago, I haven't been that hungry and I eat very little, but - if anything - I gained one more pound instead of losing what I had gained in pregnancy.

I didn't care much when I was hungry while I was pregnant, but now it's just one more thing that feels so unfair and wrong. That our bodies create 40 percent more blood, all these hormones, reservoirs of fat, etc. and it's all for nothing...

Anyone know if it'll stop once we get our cycles back to regular??? I've been reading that online some women said they started losing the extra weight after their bodies were back to normal and they've had normal cycles. Grrr it is frustrating! One thing I wanted to do after all this was lose some extra weight before I even try getting pregnant again but if I'm gaining for no good reason, how am I gonna lose it!?!?

I gained weight after mine. Been hard to lose it since then. I gained around 20 pounds. I was really depressed.

It's the hormones. I lost three while pregnant the first time and gained ten after miscarrying. I miscarried again and am pregnant again and I haven't lost or gained any other than that ten. I'm sorry you are experiencing this :(
