TTC and BC

So I was on the pill for 4 years throughout high school. I recently got off last May. My husband and I have been TCC these past 9 months and still no baby. But now that we just bought a house he is wanting for us to reevaluate our spending because a child is a lot of money. I agree with him it's just I don't want to keep getting on and off B/C I don't want to deal with all the hormonal changes again (coming off the pill I had horrible headaches) is it bad for a woman's health to do this? I mean I know when we start TTC again it could take even longer but still I don't know..any advice or information would be helpful thanks ladies!
