What are your thoughts about selfies?

My husband hates anytime I post a selfie and he criticizes me when I do, because he looks at selfies as a reach for gratification from random people. I disagree, I think it's good for men and women to post a selfie if they feel good about themselves. I have noticed though, that I take hardly any anymore and post even less to social media because of his opinion...😑 He believes that selfies are fake, how many of us take ten selfies before we find the angle we like? He also hates anytime I wear makeup and I've drastically gone bare to minimal. But I feel like I shouldn't have to feel ashamed of this.
