I'm not really looking for opinions on home births. I know how I feel about them and I would really like to explore the thought of having one with this baby.

I'm 33 weeks pregnant and have been toying with the idea of a home birth since getting pregnant. I have a midwife and the alternative is to give birth in a birthing centre, which I'm definitely comfortable with also.

My boyfriend however, is really closed to the idea of the home birth. He had his son in a birthing centre and enjoyed the experience. Until today, he has been unable to articulate why he is not comfortable with the home birthing option. I tried to get some idea of his feelings on it. He isn't scared about the safety, he doesn't think it's gross... So today I told him that at our next appointment, we need to being it up with the midwife if we want this to remain an option. He finally just told me he isn't into it because there is too much prep involved and he has too much going on to get ready for that.

Now, he is a very supportive partner and I love and appreciate him dearly, but I am pretty much the person who has prepared for this baby. I cleaned almost every closet out to make space on our cluttered apartment, something he didn't really enjoy, as he doesn't like throwing things out. He's a huge procrastinator and now that baby is a few weeks away, he feels we have run out f time.

I honestly don't want to do a home birth of he isn't on board with it, but I want him to at least consider it before rejecting the idea. He hasn't done any research and has no real idea of what it entails to get ready for that. I feel like if he can't get ready for a birth, then how is he getting ready for baby?
