Because I know it mentally and physically drains me. I don't find peace in breastfeeding. Congrats on successful nursing to you though.

I do! I still nurse my two year old and will nurse then both. I love it. The bond is so necessary and it is so adorable!!!!! Plus, nothing even comes close to a fraction of the goodness in breastmilk. ..it is magic.

Luckily my second baby girl is a natural! She has been great at latching since she was born 15 days ago. My first wouldn't latch and lost too much weight so we had to give her formula. It always made me so sad that we never had that experience and I'm so grateful to have it with my new little bundle. Never understood women who don't even try. It's such an amazing thing to be able to nourish your child with your own body. JMO.

Some just can't and that's ok. With my first, I tried and tried to nurse her and it didn't ever work out. I went to so many different lactation consultants and never got her to be successful. After 6 weeks of being unsuccessful, a lot of stress, anxiety, and even more tears, my milk was decreasing so quickly. Formula it was.

With my second, I nursed for 6 months and it was also really painful. I'm hoping this 3rd baby will be successful.

Many mothers want and desire it and then can't.
