Cyst on babies brain?!

Ok so sadly I just got done wasting my time and having my nerves exposed by seeing a genetic counsleor. My labwork is all normal low risk for everything. Apparently on my sono there was a brain cyst I forget the actual medical terminology for it. Apparently its associated with trisomy 18? And my blood work showed a 1 in 7,500 chance of this trip my 18. So anyways my scan today which is 16 weeks 2 days is not showing any visual abnormalities. So I've spent the whole afternoon crying hysterically. Did anyone else have this and turn out to be ok?! 
This cyst isn't linked to brain tumors or brain cancer thank god. Ugh idk how to feel or what to think.

I had the cysts. My brother had the cysts. They believe my two sister would have had them but they pushed the ultrasounds back so they weren't there. Back then they told my parents that I had a 99% chance of trisomy 18 and to abort me but my parents refused. A few months later I was born perfectly healthy. My brother who had them was born healthy as well. I know it's stressful but try not to worry too much. Everything will work out!

My exhusband was born with a cyst in his brain and has thalassemia anemia (his blood doesn't clot well) and he's now 29 and has had no issues. It did grow slightly on every deployment due to the excessive heat and his blood condition. None of our kids had this but they all have his blood condition.

Try not to worry, I know it's hard tho! It definitely wasn't something I wanted to hear but after reading more about it it sounds like it's very common for completely healthy babies to have this. I also read that they show up more because of better technology, lots of babies probably had them in the past but never got diagnosed bc they didn't show up on scans.

My perfectly healthy son had those at his 18 week scan. 2 small choroid plexus cysts but they were the only abnormality present in my entire pregnancy. They were gone by the next ultrasound and he turns 2 tomorrow. He's a happy, healthy and handsome kid.

Our scan also showed a choroid plexus cyst, it is in the area where the spinal fluid us made. My midwife said it has nothing to do with function of the brain and is very common at this stage. They generally go away by 32 weeks. She said since our chromosome testing came back negative for any problems that she is not concerned and that we shouldn't worry. She offered another sono in 4 weeks, or one at 32. We will probably wait til 32 since it is likely the cyst would still be present in 4 weeks.

My daughter had a cyst on each side of the brain and like you all my other blood work was normal. I didn't even decide to see the genetic counselor because my doctor said it would be a less than 1% chance anything was wrong. And they are seeing these cysts a lot more now in healthy babies because ultrasounds are more advanced. Sure enough my daughter was born perfectly healthy and is almost two years old now, running around and talking! Hope this helps.

I hope you get some reassurance next time. Sometimes the things they see or say can cause a lot of worry! I had other things such as abnormal bladder (megacystis) as well as the plexus cysts in brain but all seems to be ok now. They think my baby will be born completely normal. He also has prominent kidneys. If your tests have come back ok then that's a great sign x

Hi was it called something with 'plexus cysts' in it? If so, I had those too on my 12w5d scan and it was a marker. But I had all the tests and baby is fine. Scan yesterday at 17w2d didn't mention any problems with brain. And my baby is genetically and chromosomaly ok x
