Do you feed your baby before of after your baby starts crying?

Just want to know I have only seen people do it after. I have a newborn and I always try to feed him before he starts crying. With my first child I only did it after she started to cry.

Either, or, both. I feed him when he starts rooting. If he's to the point of crying, then he angrily clamps down on my nipples. Sometimes, I just can't get to him fast enough and he cries. It's not the end of the world.

My first never cried so I just fed him on a schedule. I'm hoping his baby sister will be an easy going baby too lol

Depends. If I notice he's hungry before he starts crying, then I feed him. But sometimes I don't notice or he wakes up crying because he slept too long.

Both! When I spot the signs I tend to prepare food or a bottle, but sometimes the tears start before I'm ready. So sometimes it's before and sometimes it's after, it all depends on how much warning I get. I don't think either is wrong, but I prefer to prevent crying if possible.

I feed on demand/schedule it's typically every 3-4 hours. I know it's best to get to them before they start crying because then that's the point in which they feel like they're starving however, crying is really the only sign my daughter gives. I can't use her sucking her thumb or fingers as one because she always has them in her mouth. She occasionally roots if I'm holding her.

I waited for cues, rooting, sucking hands, smacking. He'd usually do that for a few mins before he started crying so I had time to fix a bottle before he cried.

I've got three children and as soon as I left the hospital I got them straight into routine as best I could, so it would be 7, 10, 1pm, 4pm, and then 7 again.  And as they got older the hours would add.  Never really cried either

Usually before. They give ques well before crying most times. But sometimes you can't catch it before the crying starts. I certainly never wait for crying though.

My baby gets fussy before she gets to crying so I just start getting the bottle ready when I notice she's getting fussy
