How soon after you gave birth did you use a waist trainer?

Not earlier than 6-8 weeks. If you use it too early it can give you a bad effect.

I didn't/won't.. I breastfeed and my tummy goes down pretty well on its own. I'm not sure how much is due to breastfeeding but this time I'm 9 days post partum and already down quite a bit..

With my first I put it on as soon as I got discharged. I needed the support cuz I had no stomach muscles. It was the soft elastic typ with velcro so it could be adjusting. With my second (9 years later) I did the same thing but I didn't gain as much weight and he was 5 weeks early so my stomach wasn't as big. I moved up the the stiff one that's an actual waste training corset after 3 weeks
