Stretch Mark Cream

Nel
Hello 18 weekers! I don't normally post about products but I feel my recent experience warrants one.
I started using Palmers Anti-stretch mark cream at the very beginning of my pregnancy. I wanted to keep my skin hydrated in order to avoid any additional stretch marks. The bottle suggest you use it 3x a day. I used it about twice daily.
Around the 6th or 7th week of my pregnancy I started having palpatations and accelerated heart rate. My heart felt as though it was going to burst out of my chest and the papalpatations were continuous. I thought I was i eating to much sodium and not drinking enough water. So I cut back on salty foods and doubled my water in take. Still the episodes persisted. My husband and I were both pretty freaked out so I went to see a cardiologist who told me these kinds of things were normal in pregnant women.
It wasn't until I random conversation with my sister in law that I connected the dots. Palmers lotion has an active ingriendent in it, glycerine, which when absorbed through the skin can cause tachycardia (accelerated heart rate) and palpatations. My husband, who is a nurse verified this information for me. Pregnant women's skin is sensitive, we absorb things differently.
After discontinuing use, I no longer am having these episodes. I'm not saying that this is the case for anyone who uses Palmer's but it did seem to be the culprit in my situation. Just wanted to put this out there in case anyone else is experiencing these symptoms.
