"You shouldn't use soap"?

Question

So I've heard that using soap down there isn't good especially If you're susceptible to yeast infections. I just feel weird about not using soap. Has anyone else heard about this like, what am I supposed to do?

Just use water. Vaginas are essentially "self cleaning ovens", you don't need anything special. Using soap or even vaginal washes can cause the exact things you are trying to prevent. I've never used anything other than water and have never been smelly or had a UTI or other infection.

Just use something gentle, and external ONLY. I use gentle baby soap. I too would feel weird not using soap.

It's really easy for me to get yeast infections and I tried only using water down there but it didn't feel "clean" like I knew I was clean but I like the way soap makes me feel fresh and what not especially when I get my period that's when I feel absolutely gross so I went and bought summers eve and I wash myself with that every night and I actually haven't had a yeast infection since I've been using this soap.

I use Summer's Eve cleansing wash. Is just gives me extra assurance that I'm fresh. I have been using it for a good while now and I love it. And it has never given me any problems :)

There is vaginal wash soap by vagisil that is "suppose" to be ph balancing and it's for your vaginal area. but my doctor told me that it could also cause imbalance  . I felt I needed something for my body at least so I strangely started using the vaginal ph soap for my body instead so if it did Run down there, it wouldn't be near as bad a regular soap . After all, it cleans my body and I smell good :)

Yeah soap will mess up your pH balance down there. That's exactly the reason douching isn't recommended. Your vagina will essentially clean itself, as long as you're hygienic. Just use water.

You use soap to wash the outside of your vagina but the vagina is actually inside and that's where you do use soap. I got confused with this too till I learned! You should always wash yourself down there due to hygiene and rinsing down there also helps because I use to be prone to yeast infections! I had to get a sensitive soap :)

I use Seba Med vaginal wash.  LOVE IT.  PH balanced and great for sensitive skin.  If you do not remove all the hair Dow. There and tend to sweat normally, I would recommend a light use of Ph balanced soap.  Not a lot, but just enough to wash :)
