Question

Do you believe this is true; 
When someone is jealous and thinks their partner is cheating and they confront them many times (even if it's not true)
Do you think the partner that is overly jealous and thinks they are cheating, are the ones that are guilty and possibly cheating themselves?

Answer

I'd say it depends. Most cheaters like to project their feelings of guilt by trying to place you into being guilty for something. My baby's father believes my baby isn't his, because he "swears" I was cheating😒. I moved across the country to be with him, and knew nobody beyond his friends and my distant cousins. He's been trying to make me out as a liar and cheater since we first got together. Which I find hilarious. He has nothing to back him up in his accusations and it's all a guise because he is a liar, and I know for a FACT that he's been the one cheating. But he doesn't know that I know a lot of stuff. I just let him project because the proof will be in the DNA. I think more men accuse their women of being promiscuous because they're the ones being dirty and don't want to feel like they're the only guilty person.

I've been in this situation before. If my ex called and I didn't answer (usually i was sleeping, studying, showering, etc) he would immediately text my roommate and ask who I was with, what his name was, and how long I'd been seeing him. PSYCHO. Come to find out he was unfaithful almost our entire relationship.
This doesn't mean that everyone is like this though. Maybe the jealous person has been cheated on before and are insecure about it happening again.

Answer

It's a possibility, that is called projection (projecting your own flaws into others). But the more likely situation is that the person is just very insecure.
