Cleft lip in utero?

Question

I had an elective ultrasound yesterday to confirm the baby's sex  Everything looked great during the US but when I was at home looking at one of the still images the sonographer captured  I thought it looked like baby might have a cleft lip. What do you think? I've also added a couple of screen grabs from the dvd we received.

Just to add that this is at 18 weeks. I'm going for my anatomy scan in two weeks and will definitely be asking my doctor.

Update - had my 20 week scan and the ob confirmed that baby does not have a cleft lip. Yay :)

They told my sister her baby had one and she came out perfect. My daughter had one but it closed at 33 weeks.

I can definitely understand your concern based on the picture but I had a similar picture taken of my little man at 21wks but the 2nd picture taken immediately after showed no concern. My dr didn't even mention it and said he's 100% perfect. I wouldn't be too worried unless your dr mentions it. Here's the 2 pictures I'm talking about.

I just had an elective ultrasound done at 16 weeks... Mines looks like yours I quietly wondered if it was cleft lip... I guess I'll see at my 20 week scan done with a hospital tech 😒... My kids even said the baby looked like a puppy smh...

I definitely see what you're talking about and that would make me nervous as well! I had a 3d/4d done with my daughter at 28 weeks. I swore to God that she had a cleft lip and I absolutely obsessed about it and researched the video a thousand times. She was born absolutely perfect with no cleft lip! I worried myself sick for nothing. Keep in mind that although those are elective ultrasounds, if the sonographer sees anything that doesn't look right she will inform your OB. Try not to worry about it but if you are that concerned maybe you can take this pic in to your OB and show them.

I definitely see what you're talking about in the top picture but from my experience the baby can look bumpy & weird so it may just be the ultrasound. My friends son had this & she found out at her anatomy scan. I would definitely mention it to your doctor.
