Clomid prior to one year of trying

Did anyone get their doctor to give them Clomid or Femara before they tried for a whole year. I got off BC in June. I think I've only ovulated a couple times since and not at all since September. I had to take Provera last month to induce a cycle after 76 days. Now I'm 20 days in to this cycle, no ovulation  and I have a feeling I won't. I'm sick of this. I want to quit messing around and just start Clomid. I know it takes healthy couples up to a year but if you don't ovulate you can't get pregnant so I have no chance. Has anyone gotten their doctor to give the Clomid prior to one year? How did you convince them?
