Is it ok to drink coffee while pregnant?

I drink a lot of coffee, roughly 6 or more K-cups a day or XL from DD and love macchiatos. If/when I get pregnant, will it be ok to still drink a cup or 2? I quit smoking this month so I didn't have to stop cold turkey if I got pregnant. So I'm curious about caffeine

I drank coffee with my daughter. One cup every morning. It's okay. Just don't over do it. The last three years I went from two cups a day to around 7. But here lately I've only had 1 10 ounce cup in the morning!

Definitely talk to your doctor for confirmation, but there seems to be a consensus that staying under 200mg per day is fine. Check your specific k-cups for their caffeine content.... It can vary like crazy depending on the type and manufacturer. Hope this helps!

One or two is fine, or have one with caffeine and one decaf. But the less caffeine the better X

I would say it is not good but I understand the love for coffee especially after quitting smoking. I would go down to 1 cup a day and try to go down slowly to none. Also  I don't suggest decaf, it has more chemicals in it because of the process of decaffeinating.

I read that the reason they say no caffeine is becouse it increases your chances of miscarriage by more than 50%. Don't know how true that is but I've read it in more than one place so for me( not pregnant) it's not worth the risk.

Also - DD's caffeine count is unusually high (a change they apparently made within the past few years to compete with Starbucks)... and not all decafs are actually decaf... Just double check :)

Just cut way back. Less than 200mg a day. Decaf coffee also has some caffeine so that's a choice that would let u keep up some volume and still get some caffeine. It also dehydrates  you so drink more water for sure.

I am a avid coffee drinker.  I am now 7 weeks pregnant and my body rejects it now.   I get so sick and nauseous.  At first I could drink 1 cup just fine, but now it's like noooooooo.  And I'm like nooooooo.  But water seems to be the best thing right now.  I know you can drink 1 cup reg a day, unless you drink soda with caffeine.  You have to limit caffeine.

Thanks for all your responses!! I guess I'll start cutting down my coffee/caffeine intake now. I was drinking more than usual bc of the quitting smoking thing but I would like to still have 1 cup a day when pregnant. I'll have to talk to my dr about that when I go for my visit. Thanks ladies ❤️
