Question for hairdressers...sorry it's kinda long

I don't know if this is a stupid question but I'll ask anyway. So before I got my hair cut I could go 2 or 3 days without having to wash my hair (and before any immature girl starts in on "eww disgusting" I don't care to hear your shower habits. And I still bathed every other day regardless)and it would feel soft and smooth. Then I get it cut short, like short enough to where I don't hardly have to brush it and I can't even put it up because it's so short, and now my hair is greasy everyday. I'll shower and wash it and it'll be soft and smooth and then literally the next morning it feels and looks like I haven't washed it in a month. I hardly even touch it so it's not like my hands get it greasy. Is there some product the hairdresser could have used that could have done this to my hair? I'm not sure what shampoo or conditioner she used.
