Just wondered what does the gp do when you tell them your pregnant?

I done a few tests and i phoned the doctors and they made me phone my local maternity unit and tell them i was pregnant and they booked my 1st appointment

I'm in Canada but so far this is what has happened:

First appt. - sent for bloodwork, and given the ultrasound requisition. Instructions wee to get the bloodwork done, book the first ultrasound and come back in a month unless I was concerned.

First ultrasound - dating

Second appt. - filled out the referral for the OB, it wasn't a month since the last appt so she didn't run anymore bloodwork

Second ultrasound - coming up

Third appt. - I assume more bloodwork, etc.

I keep seeing my glfamily doc until I get a call from the OB clinic.
